A one day consultative workshop was held at Oromia Agricultural Research Institute (IQQO), head office in collaboration with Participatory Small Scale Irrigation Development Programme Phase II (PASIDP-II) which operates under Oromia Bureau of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The aim of the workshop was to create awareness on the programme and enhance knowledge on the project implementation approaches and procedures to be followed for effective implementation of the activities planned.

A total of eighteen participants including experts, researchers and directors (both research and executives) which came from four research centers (Sinana, Fedis, Mechara, Bore) and some from IQQO were participated on the workshop. Presentation on program overview was made by Mr. Andinet Degafa; Regional PASIDP coordinator and FRG & Demonstration concepts, importance and direction of implementation was made by Mr. Tadele Asrat PASDIP irrigation agronomist. After presentations, discussions were made by active participation of participants mediated through Mr. Teha Mume (Director of agricultural extension and socio-economics research directorate) and Mr. Andinet.  Discussion on project implementation modality was also made and agreed upon.

Finally, Dr. Feto Esmo, director general of Oromia Agricultural Research Institute has given directions on the programme implementation, remarks on the way forward and closing.
